  When Aquamacs complains "ssh_askpass: exec(/usr/libexec/ssh-askpass): No such file or directory" (when attempting to connect to a remote SVN repo over SSH, for instance) one solution is to use ssh-keygen to create an RSA key with no passphrase. While this is insecure, it does allow using all the features of Emacs' vc-mode on Mac OS X.

  'M-x term' launches a terminal buffer, which is a full bash terminal, in contrast to the inferior shell created by 'M-x shell' Note that command history, tab completion etc are only available in 'character mode,' which is turned on with C-c C-k. Since Emacs commands are mostly disabled in character mode, C-c C-j can be used to switch back to 'line mode' where it is possible to issue commands to emacs as usual.
